Businesses,
Colleges and keen fundraisers are ready to race in this year’s Chariots of Fire
on Sunday 22nd September. Some
spaces still remain for teams to take part for those who have not yet
registered. With over three hundred teams already expected on the day there is
still time, albeit limited, for teams to register and secure their place in the
region’s largest charitable relay race.
Raising money for Addenbrooke’s Charitable Trust (ACT) runners will be helping raise sponsorship to fund a specialist children’s ambulance service for the East of England. Children and new-born babies in the region rely on London Ambulances to receive life-critical care, something which can make a life-threatening condition even more dangerous during such a time-critical situation. To help address this Chariots of Fire will be raising funds to help ACT start a dedicated children’s ambulance service that will cover the whole region, and which is expected to help service over 1,700 patients a year.
To join in on the ACT participants will need to enter a team on the Chariots of Fire Website before 5pm on the 18th September, or before registrations reach 380 teams, whichever comes first. To register a team visit our registration page and enter your details. The cost per team entry is £150.
Chariots of Fire is the region’s longest running charity event and will be taking place on Sunday 22nd September, starting at 9.30am. The relay race sees runners following in the footsteps of the famous film, taking in the streets and colleges of central Cambridge. Teams of six are entered and every team member runs 1.7 miles.
