Charity applications for Chariots of Fire 2014 are now open. Each year, thousands of runners pound Cambridge’s city streets to raise money for the selected beneficiary charity for Chariots of Fire.
The regions longest running charitable relay race, Chariots of Fire, celebrates its 23rd anniversary in 2014 and since its launch has raised over three quarters of a million pounds for a wide variety of worthy causes.
Such causes have included; Barnados, Arthur Rank Hospice, Emmaus, East Anglian Air Ambulance, Home-Start Cambridge, the Rosie Hospital Campaign and Cam Sight. Sponsorship monies following this years event, organised in support of leading disability charity Papworth Trust, are still rolling in and will go towards urgently needed renovations and improvements to its Cambridge day centre. The day centre, located on Hawthorn Way, is an essential resource for its service users to learn new skills and make new friends.
All local charities are encouraged to apply and submissions are considered by the Trustees of Hewitsons Charitable Trust, the charity established and supported by leading regional law firm Hewitsons LLP, and representatives of Chariots of Fire media partner, the Cambridge News.
