You may have noticed on the day of Chariots of Fire this year that there were several cameramen on Queens' Green filming the event. 

The 2010 Chariots of Fire charity relay race will take place on Sunday 19 September and local charities are encouraged to apply to be the beneficiary of the funds raised.

Runners felt the heat as they took to the streets under sunny skies Sunday, to battle it out in the Chariots of Fire charity relay, held this year in aid of mental health charity Cam-mind.

With Chariots of Fire just round the corner teams are already turning their thoughts to raising sponsorship for Cam-mind.

The Cambridge University colleges have always been an integral part of the Chariots of Fire event, Cambridge’s largest charity relay race. 

With plenty of prizes on offer at this year’s Chariots of Fire charity relay race, runners will have a great incentive to battle it out for the top spots in a variety of categories. 

With Chariots of Fire just round the corner, winners of last year’s event, The Glassworks Healthclub, say it is not too late to start getting in shape for the race. 

This year, Cambridge’s premier charity event, Chariots of Fire, will be looking to raise a record amount of sponsorship to support people experiencing mental health problems.

Once again, staff from leading law firm Hewitsons will be donning running gear to take part in Cambridge’s most anticipated charity race of the year, Chariots of Fire. 

The majority of sponsorship raised by this year’s charity race will be used to expand Cam-mind’s befriending service and community groups.

The launch of Cambridge’s largest charity relay race mid-May, saw a surge of team entries using the new online registration system. There was a record 15 team registrations within the first 24 hours!

Businesses, organisations and colleges around Cambridgeshire are gearing up for the challenge of another race through the historic city in aid of charity, with the launch of Chariots of Fire 2009.

Chariots of Fire charity relay race is stepping forward this year, with the introduction of online registration. The event is launching Monday 18th May, when teams will be able to register online.

Tolan Collins, IT Manager at Hewitsons successfully ran the London marathon on 26 April 2009, to raise money and awareness for local mental health sufferers.

Cam-mind, Cambridge’s longest established mental health charity, has been chosen to receive the funds raised from this year’s Chariots of Fire charity relay race.

The start of 2009 marks the passing of another successful year for Cambridge’s Chariots of Fire charity relay race, with a total of £70,000 raised for two local charities, Romsey Mill and Red Balloon.
