Chariots of Fire 2008 was a great success with a record 409 teams entering the race to raise money for Romsey Mill and Red Balloon - Cambridge.

Yesterday's event saw 2,500 entrants pound the course. After a record number of teams signed up this year, organisers are hopeful they will beat the £75,000 raised last year.

This year Cambridgeshire’s largest charity relay race will see the recipient charities entering teams into the race and joining in the fun.

The supported charities for Chariots of Fire 2008 are entering wholly into the spirit of the event by participating in the race themselves.

Entries are flooding in for this year’s Chariots of Fire charity relay race and the team quickest off the mark to enter the event was Newmarket Plant Hire.
