Calling all charities applying for Chariots of Fire 2024
Applications for charities wishing to be the official Chariots of Fire recipient charity in 2024 are now open!
Over the course of its 30-year history, the charitable relay race has raised over £1.5 million for a variety of worthwhile local charities, with tens of thousands of pounds being raised each year.
An established event in the city’s event calendar, Chariots of Fire, organised by the HCR Hewitsons Charity, the charitable arm of law firm HCR Hewitsons, has over the years supported a wide variety of worthy causes and charities. All funds currently being raised following the 2023 race in March are in support of the Arthur Rank Hospice Charity (ARHC) for the expansion of the charity’s retail business, that will help generate the vital funds required to keep the hospice operating.
Race Director, Colin Jones said: “Chariots of Fire is absolutely fantastic – this year was no exception and the effort that people go to for the race, and their generosity, to support local charities is outstanding. We work really hard to ensure the recipient charity raises as much money as possible each year and the continued level of support from the Cambridge colleges and our event suppliers is further testament to how valued the race is across the community.”
The deadline for charity applications is Thursday 27 July 2023 at 5pm and the chosen charity will be announced in September.
