All teams entering the event are encouraged to raise as much sponsorship money as possible for this years selected charity, The Rosie Hospital. The team registration fees are used to fund the event itself on the day. All sponsorship monies raised at this year's event should be sent into the Chariots of Fire office by November.
Each year a prize is awarded to the team who raises the most sponsorship and in previous years, amounts have totalled more than £9,000 per team!
There are many ways in which teams can get involved in raising sponsorship, such as:
- Ask your friends, work colleagues, schools, social clubs etc to support you (remember 50 people donating £2.00 each raises £100, multiply by 6 team members raises £600).
- Match sponsorship – will your employer match the amount you have raised? This is an effective way of doubling your sponsorship. Just imagine if many teams did this, then the overall amount raised would be greatly increased for the charity.
- Make use of internal company publications and parish magazines etc to encourage people to sponsor you.
- Fun events can be held both socially or at work with your colleagues in order to add to your sponsorship for the charity.
- Sponsorship can be donated online and also at the Just Giving page for the Rosie Campaign's umbrella charity, ACT. You just need to write that you are fundraising for the Rosie Hospital Campaign in the text on your page.
